Kairbaan Hodivala-Dilke, was born in London 1966. She did her undergraduate degree in Biology at Southampton University; PhD with Fiona Watt at ICRF on cell adhesion and skin cancer, London (1990-1994); postdoc with Richard Hynes at MIT on in vivo models of cell adhesion in blistering diseases, platelet biology and angiogenesis (1994-1999), USA, and was awarded tenure at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (2004). After establishing her laboratory at The Barts Cancer Institute she became Professor of Cancer stromal interactions and Angiogenesis (2009) and Deputy Institute Director of the Barts Cancer Institute (2012). Her research focuses is the cellular and molecular basis of tumour-stromal interactions and angiogenesis.
